Diego Martínez: "We are in the fight, competing with everyone, and hopefully, luck will be on our side"
The Las Palmas coach spoke to the media in the press room at the Estadio Gran Canaria, where he stated, "The team has given everything it had. We have overcome very difficult situations."
Diego Martínez addressed the press after the defeat against FC Barcelona, beginning his remarks by saying, "On one hand, there is the team's performance, and on the other, the result. We lacked continuity in some plays from the first half." He added, "We want and need to earn points, but I am proud of the team. I think we did many things well."
Some of his statements:
"I believe the possible penalty is a matter of interpretation. We also had to consider Moleiro’s four yellow cards, and he wasn't the only case. In the end, we had to restructure the team in a way that allowed us to maintain our organization."
"We need to score goals and earn points. That will help the entire group gain more confidence. The team believes in what we are doing, but we need to be more efficient."
"We would be making a big mistake if we focused everything on a single player. Every team deals with suspensions and injuries. In recent matches, our performance has been much better than our results."
"The team has given everything it had. We have overcome very difficult situations. Right now, it’s normal for people to have doubts, but we remain on our path. We are in the fight, competing with everyone, and hopefully, luck will be on our side."
