The Greek club had an option to buy footballer Marko Livaja before the deadline of 15th June 2018. The excellent performances by the player (he was the team’s leading scorer) has led to AEK Athens finally paying for the player’s economic rights. In compensation, UD Las Palmas have been paid 2 million euros in all: 200,000 euros, which were received for the loan deal, and now a further 1.8 million euros to round off the purchase price.
Striker Marko Livaja came to UD Las Palmas in July 2016 on a free transfer from Rubin Kazan, and signed for four years for the yellows. He played a total of 25 league games in this time, scoring 6 goals. This season he played out on loan to AEK Athens, who were this year’s league champions in Greece, and so will be featuring in next season’s Champions League.
