The UD Las Palmas coach spoke to the media after the 2-2 draw against Deportivo Alavés  at the Estadio Gran Canaria.

Diego Martínez addressed the press following the match between UD Las Palmas and Deportivo Alavés on Friday afternoon. "Today was a very important match for us, and we didn't win it. The point could be vital for us until the end of the season because it may prove to be very important," he began. He then added, "The reaction showed a team that is alive. The actions leading to the goals hurt us a lot."

Here are some of his key comments:

"It was a very strange game, with spurts of play. We could see the team losing confidence, and then we went through a phase where we couldn't maintain continuity in our game. Sometimes matches turn out this way, and you have to try to get through them with heart and bursts of energy."

"The team had very clear chances in the second half, scoring earlier would have been a lifeline for us. It was a good game in terms of spirit and courage. I think the team tried until the end, but it wasn't enough. We have to resist and keep moving forward."

"We need to recover in these next two weeks. We have 25 points and we need to keep going because we will make it. The players are giving their all, and the team is strong. The confidence and spirit the group has will take us to our goal."

"The feeling is that with very little, we found ourselves 0-1 down very early. That also affects the continuity in the game and the confidence... we need to improve a lot, but we will do it."

"We need that victory. We believed until the end that we could make it 3-2. It's natural to feel tension, we all wanted to win, but it wasn't meant to be."
