Luis Carrión was presented this morning to the media gathered at the Barranco Seco facilities. The new yellow team coach was accompanied by Luis Helguera, the club's sporting director, who began the press conference by stating, "Carrión is the coach we wanted. We've waited a while to be able to hire him, but fortunately, he's here with us now."

For his part, the new coach said, "Since we arrived, we've had meetings and are getting to know everyone. We're feeling good about how the boys have come into preseason and are pleased to see how well everything is working."

Some of his statements:

"We have to appreciate what has been done previously. I have a clear idea of football in terms of what I want from the team. The youth academy is very important in a place like this; there's a strong culture of players who have reached great heights because of their talent.

"Last year, the team did what needed to be done. The team has very good qualities in terms of association, and the profile of the new players should give us that speed on the outside or that finishing touch.

"The working model, the patience shown with other coaches, and the demonstration of that were what swayed me. It’s a source of pride for me to see that a club like Las Palmas has trusted in me. I am joining a well-established project and will try to make it better. I see myself as capable and am very convinced that it will turn out well."

"Within a game plan, there can be many variations. There is a basic premise: a team that can possess the ball, create opportunities with it, and defend high will have a better chance of winning."

"We all know how difficult it is to stay up. I want the team to see that they can beat anyone. We have to go into the first matchday with the conviction that we can win."
