Diego Martínez: "We Will Find Our Efficiency Again, We Have Committed Players"

"The second half shows us the way forward. We weren’t sharp in both penalty areas and made two mistakes that a team like Girona will punish you for," said the UD Las Palmas coach.

There are no reactions yet. Be the first!

After the defeat at Montilivi, Diego Martínez admitted, "Obviously, we haven’t started the year well in terms of results. We knew we would go through moments like this. We fight every day to avoid them, but the competition is very tight. We want to continue in the same direction as we showed in the second half."

Here are some of his key statements:

"We all want to win and see immediate results. In the first half, we didn’t continue the good work we did in the first ten minutes. Girona is a team that puts you under pressure."

"I focus on what we can control. From there, we have to keep following our path. We need to regroup. Overall, the team played well, even though we struggled a bit more in the first half. There are still 16 games to go—I wish LaLiga ended today, but that’s not the case. We have to keep playing and competing."

"We have to try to bring out the best version of everyone. Our goal was a very good one. We will regain our efficiency because we have committed players who believe in what we're doing."
