Las Palmas secures a 2-0 victory in their first friendly match, showing promising progress for the upcoming season!
Javi Muñoz and Sandro Ramírez each scored a goal in different periods, transforming their dominant play into a well-deserved scoreline against Al Wakrah from Qatar.
Right from the start, Las Palmas displayed determination and attacked relentlessly. Within 8 minutes, they tested Al Wakrah's defense multiple times, and the captain Álvaro Lemos even hit the crossbar with a free-kick.
The team's hard work paid off, and Javi Muñoz capitalized on an incursion from Sergi Cardona to slot the ball home from the penalty spot, giving them the lead in the 21st minute.
Despite Al Wakrah's increased presence in the game after the goal, Las Palmas came close to extending their lead with two clear chances, but the agile Alsayed denied Pau Ferrer's headers on both occasions.
The second half saw a complete lineup change for Las Palmas, maintaining their control but finding it harder to penetrate Al Wakrah's defense. Still, in the 70th minute, Sandro and Sinkgraven combined on the left-wing, creating a chance that ultimately resulted in Cristian Herrera missing the header. However, Sandro sealed the victory with a superb finish 11 minutes before the final whistle, assisted by Viera.
Overall, a fantastic performance showcasing Las Palmas' progress and potential for the upcoming season!
