García Pimienta will continue leading UD Las Palmas
Francisco Javier García Pimienta will keep being the gaffer of UD Las Palmas for another season, following the agreement reached between both parties. The renewal comes after the meeting held this afternoon between the president, Miguel Ángel Ramírez, and the Catalan coach.
García Pimienta will remain at the helm of the first team next season, after the renewal agreement closed this afternoon with the club president, Miguel Ángel Ramírez. The coaching staff is completed by Álex García, assistant coach, David Gómez, fitness coach, and José Esteban Yepes, goalkeeper coach.
Francisco Javier García Pimienta joined the yellow team in January 2022, and his first match in the dugout leading UD Las Palmas occurred against Real Sociedad 'B' on January 30 of that year. After managing to achieve eleven victories and five draws, he secured the team's qualification for the promotion playoffs to the top division.
In the 2022-23 season project, García Pimienta fulfilled the objective of promotion to the highest category, a feat he accomplished by obtaining direct promotion with 18 victories, 18 draws, and only 6 defeats throughout the season. The Catalan coach also made UD Las Palmas the best away team in LaLiga SmartBank.
Throughout the 42 matchdays, he placed the first team in direct promotion spots on 32 occasions (of which 16 were as the leader) and in 9 other matchdays, in playoff positions.
