Galarreta, transferred to UD Las Palmas from FC Barcelona

Ruiz de Galarreta (born Eibar, 6th August 1993) is UD las Palmas' latest signing for the next four seasons. A transfer fee of 500,000€, with a further 200.000€ in variable payments, was agreed between the two clubs. FC Barcelona reserves the right to buy back the player, as well as a percentage payment of any further transfer involving the player.
Galarreta began his football career in the youth set up at Athletic Club de Bilbao, making his first team debut in the Europa League in a match against Paris Saint Germain (2011-2012). He is considered to be a creative midfield player.
He then went out on loan to CD Mirandés (2013-2014) until he suffered a knee injury. He then moved on, again as a loanee, to Real Zaragoza (2014-2015), for whom he played 41 games, including the vital play off match to the First Division against UD La Palmas in La Romareda (3-1).
In the 2015-2016 season he won promotion to the First Division with CD Leganés. When released by Athletic, he joined CD Numancia (2016-2017), where he was awarded best team player. The following year FC Barcelona bought him for their second string side. Galarreta made his first team debut under Ernesto Valverde in a friendly in South Africa. In the second team for Barcelona he played games 27 games, scoring one goal.
Galarreta, who arrives in Gran Canaria this evening from Barcelona, will be wearing the yellows' shirt for the next four years. On Wednesday at 12.30 he will be unveiled in the press room at the Estadio Gran Canaria, once he has passed his medical at the Hospital Perpetuo Socorro.
