Las Palmas won to the Tenerife because some of his players quality overflows to Tenerife´s boys. Still in the break-in period, but the derby that took place tonight in Maspalomas has been a serious test at 10 days of the Laliga beginning against Valencia in Mestalla. Manolo Márquez drew a starting eleven with players of specific weight, with Boateng as a reference in the forward position. The international Ghanes had the first chance to score in the match (min. 3), but his shot crashed against the tenerife goalie body.

enerife defended itself well in the first minutes, with fast movements in the contra-attack that surprised the dubious yellow mid-line in the turn-outs. The ball, however, belonged to Las Palmas with a better offensive strategic in the sides. The yellow dominion was fading away as the minutes went by. The Jonathan Viera - Vitolo conexion was tightly controlled at all times and hardly cause any danger for the Tenerife defense in the first half. Before the halftime Las Palmas forward line thread a move of endless passes that ended with a Boateng heel kick that vanished into the white and blue wall.

In the second half, Las Palmas walked ahead looking for the triumph. With five substitutions (Calleri, David Simón, Aythami Artiles, Ximo Navarro, y Fabio), Manolo Márquez looked for some freshness. And He found it. An annulled goal by Aythami Artiles, because an offside position, and another chance by David Simón, were the “yellows” presentation card after the restart before the first goal.

The “yellow” enthusiastic attack was rewarded with the touch of genius by Jonathan Viera and his goal from a free kick (min. 58). The ball was moved fast and that made the Tenerife defense line to lose his grip and performance. Hernán and Fabio were in charge to drive the ball from defense to attack in a cleaner and effective way that made impossible for Tenerife to approach the Chichizola penalty area.

Jonathan Calleri, an old fashion goal-scorer settled the 2-0 score to sentenced the tournament in the minute 69. This victory is important for the “yellow” self-esteem, step by step they are assuming the new coach ideas. Now, the prestigious Carranza Trophy is the next Ud Las Palmas objective to put an end to the summer games. Next Friday, at 18:00 Canarian time, Cádiz vs. Las Palmas in the Ramón de Carranza stadium (UD RADIO, live).
