The UD Las Palmas ruled and trashed the Turkish Champion (1-4)
The "Yellow" team trashed the Besiktas, a team that next year will participate in the Champions League, due to a great second half. Jonathan Viera, Expósito, Momo y Benito scored for the gran Canarian team. The Turkish goal, by Tosic, arrived at the edge
The UD Las Palmas comfortably won today to the Besiktas in a new friendly match of the pre-season that will commence next august 18th against Valencia FC in Mestalla. The coach, Manolo Marquez chose an starting line-up formed by Raúl; David Simón, Lemos, Bigas, Dani Castellano; Javi Castellano, Fabio, Halilovic, Vitolo, Jonathan Viera y Calleri. In the other side the team coached by Senol Günes started with Tolga; Gökhan, Mitrovic, Tosic, Adriano, Caner, Tolgay, Atiba, Oguzhan, Babel y Genk.
The match in Marbella began with Las Palmas dominating the ball while Besiktas awaited his chance to fast-attacked the yellow area. The most dangerous first half opportunities were in the islanders players boots. Firstly Vitolo, with a kick from the small area, blocked by the Turkish squad goalie, and later on by Calleri; the Argentinian shoot from inside the area neither found the net.
However, and despite the “yellow” insistence, the Besiktas profited its best chance. In the 42’ Tosic kicked inside the goal a right side pass that meant 1-0 at the half-time. In the second half Manolo Márquez made just one substitution, giving to Chichizola an entrance in the place of Raul. In the 52’, a perfect drive by Jonathan Viera ended in a Goal by the “yellow” 21. Las Palmas tied the match thanks to the magnificent connection between Viera and Vitolo. After his Goal a carrousel of substitutions started. Márquez lined up the rest of the bench, changing the squad almost completely with: Chichizola; Macedo, David García, Ximo Navarro, Borja, Aythami, Tana, Benito, Momo, Toledo y Expósito.
The changes gave effect and soon Las Palmas got his prize. Erik Expósito stood alone in front the Turkish goalie to beat him with quality and to set the score in favor of his team by the minute 66’. Eight minutes later (74’), a good move on the Toledo´s side ended up with Momo kicking the ball into the net practically sealing the yellow victory against the Turkish champion. But there was time for more. Benito ended the trash score in the minute 83 with another sharp shoot into the goal.
After this clear victory in Marbella, UD Las Palmas will face its second commitment in Andalusian lands this July 29th, Saturday against La Balompédica Linense in La Línea de la Concepción. And in the month of August will arrive the Mahou Cup against CD Tenerife, August, 2nd in Tenerife and in the 8th in Gran Canaria. Finally, the UD Las Palmas will participate in the Carranza Trophy against Cadiz the next August, 11th, starting at 18:30.
