Quique Setién: "We were just not bold enough, and it was a fair result"
Quique Setién said, following defeat in Málaga that his team didn’t have enough "composure on the ball". "We lacked a touch of freshness and inspiration with the ball". The yellow’s trainer considered the 2-1 in La Rosaleda to be a fair result.
"They got in behind us and when we are not in possession it makes it that much harder. Malaga’s style of play was too much for us", stated Quique Setién, as his team slipped to their third successive defeat in the league. "Every time you lose you worry, and especially when things don’t feel right. It is a fair result", he admitted. "We weren’t good enough all round. Things looked to be going our way when we went 0-1 up, but the equalizer came really quickly and in a rather lucky way for them.
"For a lot of people this can be quite frustrating because expectations were high", he replied, when asked about fighting for a place in European competition next year. "There are still a lot of points at stake, and in general terms things are positive. For many people who like good football, we are a a good team to watch. We nearly always play well, but today we had a rival who prevented our players from making things count".
Quique Setién said, regarding the injury to Javi Castellano, that they would have to wait on medical tests. "In theory it looks like a sprain to the other knee to which had the operation done on".
