Pako Ayestarán: "We are ready to give it a go"
Las Palmas’ Basque manager,, Pako Ayestarán, is confident of his team’s chances in their upcoming encounter, saying "we have worked out in our minds the game we have to play in Villarreal and we are ready to give it a go". He recognised that their rivals
Pako Ayestarán knows Villarreal CF, and knows that “they are a team that defends and attacks well, while their midfielders combine well", adding, "they have been playing together for a while now".
With regard to how he wants his team to play, he said "to get the best out of the players we need a proper game plan" and with regard to his players’ style he said "we need to find our way by optimising our players’ natural playing style"
The manager referred to his team’s current position, saying "first and foremost the players’ emotional side needs to be the right one", while adding "they are all in a position to play". After two games in charge, Pako Ayestarán said that "we now have a wider understanding of our players and are getting to know them better", rounding off the press conference on the eve of tomorrow’s match against Villarreal CF, with kick-off at 11:00 Canary time.
