MADCUP GRAN CANARIA will take place from June 25 to 30, 2025, featuring male and female teams from around the world, from youth categories to under-19. The tournament will follow the fifth edition of MADCUP in the Community of Madrid from June 20 to 25.

A global event in a paradisiacal destination.

The 2025 edition of MADCUP will not only be held in Madrid and its surrounding areas but will also extend to the vibrant and beautiful island of Gran Canaria with the support of UD Las Palmas.

International representation and diversity.

MADCUP 2025 expects participation from teams from over 35 countries, reinforcing its commitment to diversity and cultural exchange. Teams from the United States, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Nigeria, South Africa, Uzbekistan, the Philippines, and many more will gather in Gran Canaria, coming from Madrid, competing in an atmosphere of camaraderie and mutual respect.

Recently, MADCUP successfully held its fourth edition in Madrid from June 21 to 26, 2024, surpassing its initial goal with 809 participating teams and over 14,000 players, who played more than 2,300 matches across more than 30 venues and 93 fields. The push for the internationalization of the event has been a great success, now benefiting the island of Gran Canaria. Among the international clubs that participated in MADCUP 2024, notable names such as Club América (Mexico), Juventus (Italy), Olympique Lyonnais (France), Pohang Steelers (South Korea), Rayados de Monterrey (Mexico), Sporting CP (Portugal), and Sport Club do Recife (Brazil) are examples of those who could come to Gran Canaria in June 2025.

In 2025, the Community of Madrid and Gran Canaria will be the epicenter of youth football for ten days, promoting tourism, culture, and sports in Spain.

Values and Social Commitment.

More than a tournament, MADCUP is a platform for education and the transmission of fundamental values such as empathy, teamwork, equal opportunities, personal growth, and respect for new generations through sports. The tournament will continue its social commitment by promoting inclusive football categories.

Pepe Ortiz, MADCUP’s general director, highlighted the opportunity for MADCUP GRAN CANARIA to follow the fifth edition of MADCUP in the Community of Madrid. This project started in June 2021 with the official collaboration of the Atlético de Madrid Academy and significant support from the Community, now offering all participating teams the chance to continue their sporting, tourist, and cultural experience within Spain, in Gran Canaria, with UD Las Palmas, rather than in other countries. He also emphasized the excellent relations between the two top-division clubs and the synergies generated by collaborating on an international project like MADCUP.

Patricio Viñayo, general director of UD Las Palmas, emphasized the opportunity Gran Canaria has in 2025 to continue MADCUP Madrid and be a key venue for youth football with participants from over 30 countries. This will help establish the island as a reference point for youth football both nationally and internationally, further solidifying UD Las Palmas as an ambassador for Gran Canaria.
