The third victory of the preseason came this Thursday at the Ciudad Deportiva de Barranco. It happened during a friendly match where UD Las Palmas won 1-0, with a goal scored by Iván Gil in the second half. The match highlighted worrying notes due to the injuries of Sinkgraven and Januzaj, who both had to be substituted during the game.

The first incident of the evening came after a few initial minutes of back-and-forth play when Daley Sinkgraven requested a substitution. The Dutch player felt discomfort in his right leg and was replaced by Benito after just 18 minutes of play.

Sinkgraven had been involved in the most dangerous play early on. His cross from the left missed the area, with Jaime Mata attempting to finish it off.

Tamaraceite organized itself to contain the yellow team's dominance, with an active Bassinga. The home-grown player received applause from the fans, especially after a slalom run to the byline. However, his final pass was intercepted at the last moment by defender Uday.

Tamaraceite showed some offensive moments of notable interest, with two shots from Sergio Araujo. The Argentine, who is training with the capital team while deciding his professional future, headed a ball into the net that was disallowed for crossing the byline before the cross. Later, in the 31st minute, he ended a set-piece play with a shot that was saved by Dinko Horkas.

Just three minutes later, Carlos Daniel denied the first goal for UD Las Palmas with a sharp save from an Abou Bassinga shot aimed at the top corner of the net. This was the clearest yellow chance of the first half, which ended goalless but with active football rewarded by constant applause from the many fans who came to the Ciudad Deportiva de Barranco Seco.

Abou Bassinga remained in the spotlight at the start of the second half. The midfielder took a powerful shot that hit the post right after the game resumed, and later scored a goal that was disallowed for offside.

The goal came in the 70th minute and was celebrated for the beauty of the play. Januzaj advanced on the right and delivered a ball that Marc Cardona flicked with his heel. The ball hit the post - the eighth of the preseason - and then fell to Iván Gil, who pushed it into the net.

The worst news followed. The active Januzaj was injured after a left-footed shot from outside the area. The Belgian immediately felt an issue in his thigh and requested a substitution, leaving the field on a stretcher with evident signs of pain.
