Jonathan Viera will play on loan at UD Las Palmas over the next four months following a deal the club has struck with Chinese side Beijing Guoan, who he is currently under contract with. The Gran Canarian midfielder, who is overcoming a rib injury, is back for a third time with the yellows.
The player travelled to China last week to undergo a medical with his club, in order to get permission to return to Spain and sign for Las Palmas. Jonathan Viera recently re-signed with Beijing Guoan, and after this loan deal will go back to China at the start of January 2020.
UD Las Palmas sold Jonathan Viera to the Chinese side on 19th February, after an agreement reached between the club's president Miguel Ángel Ramírez and Li Ming, the director general at Beijing Guoan, providing an important injection of income for the club.
Las Palmas had already sold Viera previously to Valencia CF in the 2012/13 season. After being loaned out from there to Rayo Vallecano, Valencia then transferred the player to Standard Liege. Las Palmas then bought him back after their promotion back to the first division in 2014/15 season.
The player will be unveiled today, 2nd September, at 12.00, at Domingo Alonso (at their new offices in Siete Palmas, on Avenida Pintor Felo Monzón, 34).
