Jaime Mata spoke at a press conference ahead of the visit to Girona FC. The yellow forward pointed out that “It’s a very special match for me because I started my professional career in Girona many years ago. It’s a club I’ve seen grow, and I’m proud to have been part of the team’s growth. We have them just five points ahead, and that’s very little, especially with the equality in this league, and the matches are very evenly matched.”

Here are some of his statements:

“It’s true that we haven’t been having much luck or fortune. The controversial plays have gone against us, both in the Mallorca match and the other day. These are details that haven’t gone in our favor, but the day we least expect it, they will. The Mallorca match was an excessive punishment, something unfair that went against us.”

“It was an action that, if they continue to whistle it, it’s incorrectly whistled; and if they stop, it’s only been whistled against us. The decision made was wrong. I hope the league is fair in the end.”

“As a team, we showed concentration. We need to make sure those moments last longer. Personally, I’m not frustrated at all. I have many years of experience, and I’ve never stopped fighting or competing.”

“Kirian competes as much as he can for the team, he always steps up, and he’s our captain. We don’t reproach anything; he gives his all. He always gives his best and is an example for us.”
