UD The Palms added up another draw at home (seven), in a game in which they have received an excessive punishment in many phases of the game. Paco Herrera repeated the same lineup that won against CA Osasuna in the last match played at home. This confrontation with Real Zaragoza brought fond memories to the yellow fans after that promotion before the "maños" in the 2014-2105 season. Now the story is very different, with two teams looking for their identity. The match started very even, something slow and little football. Soon both teams warmed up and the opportunities started pulling through.
In the minute 14 the referee annulled a header goal to Juan Cala for alleged offside. A minute later, Rubén Castro, put the 1-0 after theft of Fidel ball and subsequent pass of the death of Galarreta. Started playing well Las Palmas, because Zaragoza widened its lines leaving wider spaces. Rafa Mir and Juan Cala were close to the second goal in the face of the passivity of the "maños" defenders. The Gran Canaria team was fine in attack and in the 27th minute the goalkeeper Cristian Álvarez took his feet with a low shot from Fidel after a good pass from Rubén Castro.
When nobody expected it, one more mistake by the referee led to Real Zaragoza's goal to tie the score. The assistant judge had raised the flag indicating offside, but the referee conceded the goal scored by Álvaro Vázquez anyway (1-1, at halftime).
Las Palmas found itself with other annulled goal to Rubén Castro for an offside foul in the first minute of the second half. The yellow team kept their spirit high looking for a goal against the rival that dominated completely. Even so, Zaragoza was one step away from scoring the second goal with a volley from Eguaras that came close to the right post of Raúl Fernández.
The injuries of Galarreta and Eric Curbelo weakened the Canarian team. Twenty minutes to reach the final whistle Sergio Araujo jumped into the field. The game got even more complicated for Las Palmas due to the expulsion of Gaby Peñalba (double yellow), in minute 75. With ten players on the field Las Palmas was also better than Zaragoza, but could not score the goal that was dreamed about in a game that they deserved to win.
