The Gran Canaria Island Council presented the corporate brand of Gran Canaria's candidacy for the 2030 World Cup in an event held at the Gran Canaria Stadium.

The presentation included Antonio Morales, President of the Gran Canaria Island Council; Aridany Romero, Sports Counselor; José Juan Arencibia, President of the Interinsular Football Federation of Las Palmas; Miguel Ángel Ramírez, President of UD Las Palmas; and Sitapha Savané, President of CB Gran Canaria.

One of the highlights was the unveiling of UD Las Palmas' jersey, which will display the candidacy's logo on the front during home games, starting this Sunday.

Antonio Morales emphasized that "the Gran Canaria Island Council will not renounce the right that, I believe, belongs to us to host the World Cup. We've submitted all the necessary technical proposals and various alternatives." He pointed out that "no place combines the level of hotel facilities that Gran Canaria offers and the connectivity of our airport. The fact that we're an island cannot penalize us."

Aridany Romero explained that this presentation "is one more initiative to put our candidacy on the map. We're showcasing the island's commitment. We have a solid and concrete technical proposal. 4.5 million tourists visit us each year. Gran Canaria is a global reference, and we ask that we be taken into account."

Juan José Arencibia, President of the Football Federation of Las Palmas, stated, "Gran Canaria is unique, and we have a stadium that we can transform into whatever we need. We were the first to provide all the required documentation, and we didn't even need extensions to meet the established deadlines."

Miguel Ángel Ramírez, President of UD Las Palmas, expressed his pride as a resident of Gran Canaria "that the political class is involved and committed to Gran Canaria's bid to become a host for the 2030 World Cup. God willing, we will achieve it, and if we don't, it won't be for lack of effort."

"The authorities are working tirelessly to make Gran Canaria a host. We're delighted to be a global platform to showcase the candidacy's logo," he added. He also said, "I appreciate that they're involving UD Las Palmas; it's an honor for us to be at the forefront of promoting the candidacy. I hope we won't have to wait long to celebrate becoming a host for the 2030 World Cup."

Sitapha Savané, President of CB Gran Canaria, added that "it's a privilege to combine a tourist destination like Gran Canaria with the possibility of hosting a World Cup. We all need to work together, which is why we'll display the logo in the Gran Canaria Arena. You can always count on us to contribute and support in any way we can
