Fábio Silva: "Joining Las Palmas is a big step for my career"
The new Yellow player highlighted, "I was really excited about the idea of playing in this league."
Fábio Silva was introduced this afternoon as the new striker for UD Las Palmas. In his first statements, he said, "Las Palmas was the first team to reach out to me in May. It’s the team I’ve joined, my first love. I've learned that things happen naturally in life."
Here are some of his remarks:
“I can offer a lot to the team. I can play as a central striker, on the wings, or just behind the forwards. I’ve played in various positions throughout my career, so I’m adaptable.”
“My family and agent always advise me on what’s best for my professional career. The Spanish league is the competition I’m most eager to play in. Las Palmas is the ideal club for me with its beautiful style of play. They want the ball and to play it, which is perfect for me.”
“The most important thing now is Sunday’s match against Athletic. I’m looking forward to making my debut, being with my teammates, and training.”
“In a footballer’s life, many things can happen, and some situations are beyond our control, which I leave to my agent. But it was interesting that Las Palmas was the first team interested in me, and I wanted to share that moment. I’ve been eagerly anticipating this since May, and now I’m here to enjoy it.”
“I’ve spoken with coach Luis Carrión, and he seems great. What’s important now is starting training to understand what he expects from me.”
“I’m now a more complete player than I was years ago when I didn’t like running behind defenders. The clubs I’ve been with and the leagues I’ve played in have made me a more well-rounded player.”
