Diego Martínez, new coach of UD Las Palmas

The Galician coach and the yellow team have signed a contract that lasts until June 30, 2025, with an additional season if the team avoids relegation. The coach will be presented tomorrow at 4:30 PM in the press room of the Sports City.

Diego Martínez (born December 16, 1980, in Vigo) will take charge of UD Las Palmas for the current season, with an option for another if the team remains in the top division.

Martínez brings extensive coaching experience, having worked with Sevilla FC (assistant coach from 2012 to 2014), Sevilla Atlético (2014/15 to 2016/17, where he led the team to promotion to the Second Division), CA Osasuna (2017/18), Granada CF (2018/19 to 2020/21, achieving promotion to La Liga and securing European qualification), RCD Espanyol (2022/23), and Olympiacos (2023/24).

With over 100 matches coached in La Liga, the new UD Las Palmas coach also has experience in European competitions, having led Granada CF and Olympiacos in the UEFA Europa League.

Tomorrow at 4:30 PM, the coach will be officially presented in the press room of the Sports City.
