Deivid has been presented as the yellows’ latest signing in the press room at the Estadio Gran Canaria, accompanied by the club’s Technical Secretary and his family. The player said he wished to thank Real Valladolid "for making it easy for me to come here, I know they wanted me to play for them. I am really happy to be back".
"I am 100% fit, I have been training for a fortnight and I feel great. The whole squad starts from scratch with our new trainer, and we are all keen to show we are up for it" the new defender said. As for how he sees the second division, Deivid was quite clear, saying "it is a really tough competition, and is highly competitive. UD Las Palmas will be one of the key sides in this league. The most important thing is to keep picking up points and I hope we are challenging at the top from the start".
The player was aware of what it meant to be back in Gran Canaria and pointed out, "when things are not going too well I know I will get criticism for being who I am, but I have a strong personality and enough experience to face up to it".
