Dário Essugo (March 14, 2005, Portugal) is the new addition to UD Las Palmas. The defensive midfielder will join the yellow side on loan from Sporting Lisbon until the end of the season.

Essugo will bolster the midfield for UD Las Palmas with his physicality and ability to cover ground. At just 19 years old, the midfielder has already shown his capability on the pitch, demonstrating strength in defensive duties and ball recovery.

A Portugal U-21 international with 3 caps, Essugo has played 26 official matches with Sporting’s first team. He made his debut for Sporting on March 20, 2021, becoming the youngest player to debut for the club’s senior team. His career includes titles such as the 2020-2021 Primeira Liga, the Taça da Liga in 2020-2021 and 2021-2022, and the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira in 2021.

Essugo began his career in the youth ranks of Sporting Lisbon. Throughout his young career, he has gained experience in top national and international competitions, establishing himself as one of Portugal's promising talents. His arrival at UD Las Palmas aims to strengthen the midfield and provide greater defensive stability to the team.

Dário Essugo has also been called up to the Portugal U-21 squad for the Euro 2025 qualifier against Croatia, scheduled for September 10, 2024.
