Carrión: "The burden of last season is buried; it doesn't exist in the team or in me."

The Las Palmas coach stated ahead of the Villarreal match, "What the team needs is confidence, not based on results, but on hard work. A win would make us feel much better, and hopefully, Monday will be that day."

Luis Carrión spoke to the press on Saturday at the Ciudad Deportiva, before beginning the penultimate training session ahead of the match at the Estadio de la Cerámica.

"As with every match, we work knowing the strengths of the opponent; we need to stay vigilant," the coach explained. Regarding his players, he mentioned, "We were able to give Álex a few extra days, and he seems to be doing well now. With Sandro, we'll evaluate the tests and make a decision before Monday." He added, "We want to go out and win every game. We had a strong start against Real Betis; the point is what it is, but now we need to get victories to climb the standings."

Here are some of his key statements:

"A victory will help us feel better; the team is working very well. What the team needs is confidence, not from results, but from the work we put in. A win would make us feel much better, and hopefully, Monday will be that day."

"Every match is an opportunity to keep improving; we need to stay strong. Despite the challenges in the defensive lines, the team performed well against Betis."

"Dário brings personality despite his age; he always wants the ball, has good legs, and isn't carrying the burden of past losses."

"Everything can be improved; sometimes we don't circulate the ball enough, which reduces the element of surprise against our opponents. Betis is a team that shifts a lot, and that was a bit challenging for us, but I believe the team's offensive volume is good."

"That burden is buried; it doesn't exist in the team or in me. What matters is what has happened this year and what's coming next."

"The team needs to stay strong and recognize that with one win, we could climb five places. We've been able to create goal-scoring opportunities against strong opponents, and the players are eager to secure a victory for themselves and for all the people who support them day in and day out."
