Juan Torres Ruiz, 'Cala' (born Seville, Spain, on 26th November 1989) has reached a deal with UD Las Palmas for the next two seasons, with the option of the third season.
The defender started his footballing career in the youth ranks at Sevilla CF, and made his professional debut in the 2009/10 season. The following year he was loaned out to FC Cartagena for a single season. In 2011/12 he also played on loan at AEK Atenas until December.
Sevilla then sold him to Cardiff CIty in the 2013/14 season. The following season he signed for Granada. Then Getafe stepped in to sign him up in July 2015, and he played 77 matches for the Madrid side scoring 6 goals. In February last season he left for Chinese Superleague side, HN Jianye, where he featured in 11 games, totalling 987 minutes.
Cala lands in Gran Canaria on Monday afternoon from Seville and will be unveiled on Tuesday at 12:30, in the press room at the Estadio Gran Canaria, after having undergone his medical at the Hospital Perpetuo Socorro, early tomorrow morning at 8.30.
