Las Palmas works hard to win in Vitoria (0-1)

A new victory on the mainland for UD Las Palmas, their first away win against Deportivo Alavés in the top flight (0-1). Kirian's goal in the first half proved crucial after a tough match where they had to roll up their sleeves to maintain a lead that turned out to be decisive.

García Pimienta fielded almost the same lineup that played against Getafe a week earlier, with Marc Cardona stepping in for Sandro Ramírez, who didn't recover in time to travel with the group to Vitoria. The yellow coach saw no reason to change the lineup that secured the solid victory at the Estadio de Gran Canaria.

The game started with a scare for Las Palmas as Samu missed a splendid chance after a move by his teammate Rebbach within the first 5 minutes. The forward missed the goal from very close range. However, this didn't affect the spirit of the Gran Canarian team, which sought to dominate possession and dictate the game with their usual style.

García Pimienta's team built their game in the first half around possession, although it was clear that Alavés' defensive structure made it challenging to create deeper opportunities. Yet, this didn't discourage the players led by Kirian and Moleiro.

The breakthrough arrived after half an hour, precisely from a combination involving the duo of Tenerife midfielders. Moleiro capitalized on an initial move by Munir to slip into the box and provide a pass to his teammate Kirian, who calmly and accurately shot to give Las Palmas the lead.

The initial objective was achieved, but Álvaro Valles had to confirm it 10 minutes later. The La Rinconada goalkeeper watched as Samu Omorodion sprinted from midfield towards his position. However, the goalkeeper managed to block the final shot, deflecting the ball for a corner.

UD Las Palmas reached halftime with the lead, earned through hard work and exquisite precision in their first shot of the day. The score remained unchanged at the start of the second half when the referee, on VAR advice, disallowed a goal by Samu due to offside. A similar incident occurred in the 74th minute, involving the same player.

Las Palmas faced the final minutes of the match with a lead and a significant amount of hard work. They were forced to change their traditional role in matches. Alavés pushed forward, creating new opportunities with direct football into the box and shots repelled by the goalkeeper and Gran Canarian defenders, including a shot against the post in stoppage time. However, the score remained 0-1, and with it, UD Las Palmas reached 24 points in the standings.
