At Barranco Seco, in front of 700 fans, UD Las Palmas wins 4-0.
Sandro (twice), Bassinga, and Manu Fuster completed the victory against the new Segunda RFEF team, Unión Sur Yaiza.
UD Las Palmas achieved their second preseason win on Saturday, closing out a week of training with a match against Unión Sur Yaiza. The sixth friendly of the summer took place at the Ciudad Deportiva in Barranco Seco, with a full crowd of 700 season ticket holders for the 2024-2025 campaign.
Sandro Ramírez scored the first two goals for the yellow team. Both goals stemmed from passes by Abou Bassinga. Sandro opened the scoring with a cross-shot following a lobbed pass from Campaña, and added the second after running onto a through ball from Januzaj.
After these early goals, the match evened out for a while, though Las Palmas continued to threaten the opposition’s goal. The third goal came just after the half-hour mark when Oli McBurnie’s shot hit the post, allowing Abou Bassinga to score the rebound.
Former UD player Moha Bassele had the best chance for his team in the first half, reaching the local area in the 38th minute, but his shot missed the target. Croatian goalkeeper Dinko Horkas had earlier made a save from Joel Domínguez’s attempt.
The first half ended with a 3-0 scoreline, providing an entertaining display for the fans. The second half saw fewer chances and more balance in the play, with many substitutions taking place. Las Palmas added a fourth goal towards the end, with Manu Fuster capitalizing on a steal and scoring just before the match ended.
