Kirian: "We mustn’t underestimate any opponent; Leganés is well-prepared."

The captain said in the press conference that the squad "is learning to balance aggression and caution. Once we fully grasp the coach's concepts, you'll see the UD Las Palmas he envisions."

There are no reactions yet. Be the first!

Kirian Rodríguez spoke on Thursday in the press room of the Ciudad Deportiva, ahead of their visit to Leganés. On the 75th anniversary of the club, the yellow captain began his remarks by saying, "It's a special day for the club, the fans, and everyone involved. It's an honor for me to face it as the first captain."

Here are some of his statements:

"Maybe now we’re trying to be more direct if we see that we're well-positioned at the back. The coach is encouraging us to push forward and deliver crosses, but always while maintaining possession."

"We're at the point where we know we don't need to be too reckless or too conservative. As the season progresses and we absorb the concepts more, you'll see that UD Las Palmas under Luis Carrión."

"I don't want to jump the gun, but I think we have one of the best squads in recent years, considering the signings we've made, the technical quality, etc. The club is eager, just like the players."

"Inside the team, we try to keep everything normal. As long as Valles is here, committed to the group, and training every day, we will respect him fully."

"The transfer market is a complicated situation. You're training, but you don't know if you’ll stay or not... for now, we have to be grateful because the players in that situation are training hard and not harming the team."

"Every team should be taken seriously. You might win four games in a row and then can't beat anyone. We learned that last year. You can't underestimate any opponent. Leganés has started well, earning a point at a tough ground like El Sadar."

"I’ve gradually adapted, and this year I’m playing in a deeper position. I love to drop back, and I hope to keep contributing the same way while feeling more comfortable in this role."

"I hope to be more precise in attack, look for that final pass more, and provide more assists. The games will be more open, and there will be more spaces."

"We don’t have great memories of Butarque. It’s going to be a tough match, but I hope the team can overcome that kind of deep block and finally bring the victory home.
