Jasper Cillessen, new reinforcement for UD Las Palmas' goal

UD Las Palmas has signed the Dutch goalkeeper for the next two seasons, following a transfer agreement reached with his club, NEC Nijmegen.

Jasper Cillessen (04/22/1989, Nijmegen) joins UD Las Palmas to strengthen the goalkeeping position, following a transfer agreement reached with NEC Nijmegen, a team from the Eredivisie.

Trained in the youth ranks of NEC, where he progressed to the first team, Cillessen was transferred to Ajax in the 2011/12 season, playing 143 matches for them. In the 2016/17 season, he was transferred to FC Barcelona, defending the Catalan goal in 32 matches, until Valencia CF acquired his services in the 2019/20 season, where he played 57 matches for the Che team. Finally, in the 2022/23 season, Cillessen returned to his original club, NEC Nijmegen, where he has reached 100 appearances in goal.

With an extensive career in the Eredivisie, La Liga, Champions League, and Europa League, among other competitions, the new UD Las Palmas goalkeeper has been an international for the Netherlands 65 times. He has been a double La Liga champion (FC Barcelona), a double Copa del Rey champion (FC Barcelona), a double Spanish Super Cup champion (FC Barcelona), and a triple champion of the Netherlands (Ajax).
