García Pimienta: "I’m overjoyed for the players, but especially for the fans, I know what they’ve gone through."

García Pimienta spoke to UD Radio after the draw at Nuevo Mirandilla against Cádiz CF and, after securing their place in the First Division, said, "There were so many of our fans in the stands suffering. Next season, they will see their UD Las Palmas in the First Division again."

"I imagined the game would be like this, very intense. Cádiz was fighting for their lives and gave it their all. We came in as newcomers and next season we’ll be in the First Division again."

"It’s true that no matter what, I would have given it my all, and I did give it my all, that’s for sure. But in the end, it’s all about results, and safety was a very clear goal."

"Unfortunately, when we had 37 points by matchday 24 and everyone thought we were safe, I knew it was going to be difficult. I didn’t expect such an extended streak."

"I’m very happy because, knowing it was going to be tough, the guys gave everything, they were very responsible, and I’m happy for them."
