García Pimienta: "I'm happy with the attitude, the work, the game, and the qualification"

The coach of UD Las Palmas stated, "It was a highly competitive match. Tudelano had their chances, and so did we. In the end, we had to work extremely hard to advance in the round."

García Pimienta spoke to UD Radio after the match at Ciudad de Tudela, where UD Las Palmas secured their passage to the next round of the Copa del Rey, defeating CD Tudelano (1-2). The yellow team's coach remarked on the victory, saying, "Yes, qualifying was tough, as expected. When you play a cup match against a lower league opponent with a full stadium cheering intensely, the ambition of the lower-ranked team equals that of the Primera División team."

Some of his statements:

"In the end, you want everything discussed during the week to translate onto the field, which isn't easy. The modest team's enthusiasm equals many situations. These are matches that are very challenging to carry out, and I'm impressed with the effort."

"There were many players who hadn't had much playing time, and it's very difficult to get into a match like this. I believe considering all these handicaps, the team competed well, and we've progressed through the round."

"It's clear that we tried until the end, undoubtedly, but Tudelano also had their chances, especially on the counter. We knew that if we went to penalties, anything could happen. We were going to keep trying, and our perseverance paid off."

"When we planned the lineup, it was very clear that certain players would start and play most of the minutes. Position-wise, Cristian was the best fit for that role. We see him train every day, and we knew he would perform well."

"We knew it would be a demanding match; the players adapted to the cold, the pitch, and the opponent. Happy with the attitude, the work, the game, and the qualification."

"Perhaps it was the least clear chance. I think Munir's faith and desire to strike hard made it so the goalkeeper could only touch and deflect it somehow, but the ball went in. Happy because in the end, no one will remember how it happened, but that we progressed in the round."
